1940s Modest Maidens and Victory Rolls

"I wanted to send him
      a birthday card......
but I can't find one that says
 'to a stinker!'"

a little comic from my ephemera collection.
1946 Modest Maidens~
loving those VICTORY ROLLS!

1940s women would fashion
their hair into rolls
as a show of patriotic support
for their beloved
 soldiers overseas.
Victory Rolls are commonly
thought to
be named in honor of a
WWII plane maneuver
of the same name.
